Three New Patrons

Michael and Thuy Fujimoto and Bennett Dorrance Jnr. have become the newest patrons of the Amida Trust. This important support and affirmation for the work of the Trust is great news for the new year. All three live on the Big Island of Hawaii and have known Dharmavidya and Prasada for many years. During that time they have been wonderfully supportive to the work of the Amida community. Thuy and Bennett are the co-founders of the New Moon Foundation, a philanthropic organisation which supports a wide variety of enterprises for the common good within a framework of engaged Buddhist principles.

Buildings to be Demolished

The latest news from Hawaii is that the residential buildings on the Amida Temple site will have to be demolished. Rebuilding may take as much as a year. Paul Normann and Judy Walker are currently visiting The Buddhist House. Sr. Susthama is in Hawaii working with the New Moon Foundation on plans for the restoration of the buildings and continuance of the work. Amida practice continues.

31st October: Susthama to Hawaii

Sr. Susthama departed from The Buddhist House today en route for Amida Hawaii to assist in the aftermath of the earhquake - see also previous reports.

Susthama to go to Hawaii Immediately

The situation at Amida Temple in Hawaii has deteriorated further and Dharamvidya has asked Susthama to go to assist.
