There amitaryas of the Amida Order have been having a gathering at Amida France. The atmosphere has been relaxed. Much gardening has got done. A tree planting ceremony was held in memory of Andy Whyte who died 3 January 2007.
At Amida France we are in the midst of our Summer Programme with Dharma Teachings and outdoor life. Generally the centre has only been open in summer months but this coming year we intend to make a further attempt to keep the centre open through the winter. Last time we tried to do this it stretched our resources too far, but now things have grown a little it is time to try again. Certainly being here through the winter months can be a great experience and little by little we improve the living conditions though they remain rustic. So this summer we are stock-piling wood for the winter months and planting some crops that may continue into the colder months.
Dharmavidya, Prasada and Kaspalita will travel to France on Thursday 3rd July to join other members of the Amida community there. Teachings will commence on 10th July.
Susthama, Alena and Walter are enjoying being close to Nature at our retreat centre in rural France. To follow their progress, subscribe to the Amida France Blog, (.rss)
