Team Returns from Amida France

Sr Modgala and the volunteer team arrived back at The Buddhist House from Amida France in the early hours of this morning.

While there they worked mostly on the grounds as the weather was very kind. At first the balmy weather allowed a swim in the lake to refresh them from their walnut and vegetable collecting. On leaving there was a hard frost and a bright blue sky. Much produce was frozen and preserved for the coming year, ground was dug and manured for spring planting while last years new blackcurrants and raspberries were rescued from the encroaching brambles. A large new strawberry bed and newly planted blackcurrand babies offer a promise of rich harvests to come.

They enjoyed practicing together and had many excellent Dharma discussions. All enjoyed some trips to explore the woods, lakes and villages of this unspoilt and unknown corner of France. It was wonderful to have such keen and enthusiastic volunteers for this working retreat. Many thanks to each of them. Namo amida Bu
