Planting Leeks for Winter

At Amida France we are in the midst of our Summer Programme with Dharma Teachings and outdoor life. Generally the centre has only been open in summer months but this coming year we intend to make a further attempt to keep the centre open through the winter. Last time we tried to do this it stretched our resources too far, but now things have grown a little it is time to try again. Certainly being here through the winter months can be a great experience and little by little we improve the living conditions though they remain rustic. So this summer we are stock-piling wood for the winter months and planting some crops that may continue into the colder months.

Sunday Service 11th May: Faith is Power

When do we look at someone or something without the suspicion that they are not what they seem. Probably not as often as we would like to admit. When we are able to look into the hearts of our companions in depth we find, when we trust that they are as they are, Manshi says we find the true man (or woman), the infinite light within. Happy End of Bodhi Retreat

This year's Bodhi Retreat ended yesterday. The sangha goes forth to new work.

Order Meeting

On 6 December the members of the Order of Amida Buddha met at The Buddhist House. There were 12 of the 15 members present, one being absent on active service and two ill. There was much discussion. The meeting exhibited a strong sense of mutual commitment, esprit de corps and sense of mission.

Team Departs for France

Sr Modgala and Sudana set out this morning with volunteers Phil an Peter heading for Amida France where they will spend some time harvesting and doing running repairs around the property. They are due to be joined by two further volunteers when they get there.
