This is a very moving piece and resonates with me as I recently began a placement within an alcohol team in Sheffield. Pretty much a cinderella service compared to the substance misuse service which has quadrupled in size over the last 7 years, we are also facing the shutting down of one of the few "dry" residential rehabilitation services in the area next month. I had the opportunity to visit it recently and was impressed by the therapeutic model it offered, based on the "12 steps". I did not know a great deal about this approach, developed by the founders of AA, but I have been interested to look at the 12 steps in a pureland context. I'll post something later this week.
