Britain prefers to keep bankers fat

The European Union has agreed some sensible policies to control banks, including putting a cap on bonuses paid to bankers. The UK is against controls of this kind and would like its bankers to get bigger bonuses. UK hopes in this way to lure the best bankers. What the British public think about their government subsidies going straight into the pockets of bankers will never come to light because the British press never tells them about the things that they would like that the EU does. It only ever reports the EU when it does things the public will disapprove.
